Berlin Airport Hotels

Berlin has three major airports:

Tegel, the main airport for intercontinental flights,  is only 6 km (4 miles) from the city center. There's no need to worry about staying at an airport hotel, even if you have an early departure, because you can reach the airport quickly and inexpensively by the JetExpressBus TXL or taxi.

Tempelhof, used mostly for flights within Europe, is even closer to the center at 5 km or 3 miles. You can easily get  from your hotel to the airport (or vice versa) by U-Bahn. If you have an early departure, you might try the four-star Mercure Berlin Tempelhof Airport, where windows are double-glazed to keep airplane noise from disturbing your sleep. The hotel's restaurant is open from 6 a.m. until 11 p.m.

The remaining airport, Schönefeld, is 24 km (15) miles out, but you're unlikely to use it unless you're making connections with Eastern Europe or flying on a charter. An AirportExpress bus runs between the Berlin-Zoologischer Garten station and Schönefeld in 31 minutes, and you can also reach the airport by S-Bahn and a terminal shuttle bus. Still, if you have a very early departure, you may find it convenient to stay at:

The check-in counters at Schönefeld are just 1 km away from this hotel, which has nearly 200 rooms and suites (including two rooms that are equipped for disabled guests).

Albergo Berlin
This modern Italian-themed hotel is only 800 meters from the terminal at Schönefeld International Airport. It has 50 rooms and a Mediterranean restaurant.
