Berlin currently has two major airports:

Tegel, the main airport, is only 6 km (4 miles) from the city center. There's no need to worry about staying at an airport hotel, even if you have an early departure, because you can reach the airport quickly and inexpensively by the JetExpressBus TXL or taxi.

Schönefeld is 24 km (15) miles out. An AirportExpress bus runs between the Berlin-Zoologischer Garten station and Schönefeld in 31 minutes, and you can also reach the airport by S-Bahn and a terminal shuttle bus. Still, if you have an early-morning departure from Schönefeld, you may find it convenient to stay at:
