ABOVE: The Clelia II follows a tugboat toward Venice's Giudecca Canal. (The small ship once belonged to the original Renaissance Cruises fleet.)

Travel Dynamics International has operated small-ship cruises since 1969. Until a few years ago, it used the name "Classical Cruises."

The line normally operates three vessels in Europe: The Corinthian II, the Callisto, and the Clelia II (shown above).

During 2012, the company's cruise season runs from through October, with an emphasis on cultural and historic themes. Onboard lecturers such as Frances Mayes and Bill Moyers provide intellectual stimulation at sea.
