Renaissance is the new flagship of Go Barging's river and canal fleet

Go Barging has acquired an 8-passenger luxury hotel barge, the Bonne Humeur, to serve as the flagship of its European barge fleet. The vessel is being rechristened Renaissance, repainted in Go Barging's livery, and given other improvements such as a new galley, a re-floored forward deck with roof extension for dining al fresco, an expanded, "guest-friendly" wheelhouse, upgraded staterooms and an additional silent generator.

In 2008, the barge's well-established cruise route in Burgundy and the Upper Loire will include cruising on the River Seine, the Canal de Loing, and the ancient Canal du Briare with stops in the beautiful towns of Samois-sur-Seine, St Mammes, Nemours, Nargis and Rogny les Sept Ecluses.

Six-night cruises will run from Sunday to Saturday, with passengers being picked up and dropped off in Paris by air-conditioned minibus.

About Renaissance:

Renaissance accommodates up to eight passengers in four suites, which can be configured as twins or doubles. Each suite has a 60-sq. ft. private bathroom.

A cozy bar is stocked with drinks, and bookshelves contain a Bose CD system, current books, and up-to-date periodicals and magazines. Renaissance also has a separate dining room, a sundeck with Jacuzzi, and bicycles for use by passengers.
