Hurtigruten introduces the "Layaway Getaway"Interest-free payment plan applies to U.S. residents cruising in Norway, the Arctic, Greenland, and Antarctica New York, NY -- Hurtigruten has launched a new program to assist cruise guests wishing to book any of their cruise products, including their highly-rated expedition cruises to once-in-a-lifetime destinations such as Greenland and Antarctica. "Layaway Getaway" is as simple as it sounds -- passengers booking any May-through-December 2009 departure by February 28 can make monthly, no-interest payments -- and can still cancel with a 100% refund up to 70 days before departure. Deposits as low as $99, no credit checks, a simple payment process, and full payment not due until 45 days before departures makes it easy for travelers to experience the stunning scenery, unique wildlife and local cultures of Hurtigruten's destinations. The number of monthly payments is dependent on the departure date of the chosen trip -- from three payments for those departing in May to 10 monthly payments for December sailings. Hurtigruten, known for more than 100 years as the cruise line whose ships sail the spectacular fjord-filled west coast of Norway, also offers expedition sailings to some of the world's most remote destinations: Greenland and the Arctic's Spitsbergen during the summer months of May through September, and Antarctica during the Southern Hemisphere's summer months of October through February. 2009 brings additional sailings to Europe including an eight-day "Easter Cruise," sailing from the Canary Islands' Las Palmas to Lisbon, Portugal on April 8; an 18-day Greenland to New York cruise in September; and a 22-day Falklands, South Georgia and Antarctica itinerary in October, and special 21-day Christmas and New Year's Holiday in Antarctica. Theme cruises take center stage at a number of Norway sailings. "Springtime Awakening" opens mind, body and soul to new ideas and concepts while "Virtuosi Classical Cruises" treat guests to performances by some of the world's most accomplished artists. "The Big Bands are Back" highlights the music of greats such as Benny Goodman and Jimmy Dorsey; "Arctic Birding Safari" puts guests in front of expert naturalists and ornithologists; and "Red Hatters Northern Lights & Fun-Filled Nights" features revelry and fanciful events for the society of women over 50. Payments on the "Layaway Getaway" program are due on the 15th of each month and can be made by credit card or check. For more information on Hurtigruten,
