The Majestic Line cooks up a 'Taste of Argyll' culinary cruise

The six-night voyage departs from Holy Loch, Scotland on Saturday, 17 October

The Majestic Line know the number of food and drink producers in the small area of South Argyll is impressive. With the warm Gulf Stream air, South Argyll boasts award winning products which can be found in many of the UK’s top restaurants and speciality shops.

The Majestic Line have always indulged in the delicious ingredients and products available and are now introducing a cruise to highlight the many culinary delights of South Argyll.

On Saturday 17th October 2009, The Majestic Line is organising a one-off cruise called 'The Taste of South Argyll.' Over a total of six nights, the Glen Tarsan will cruise around the Kyles of Bute, Loch Fyne and Arran stopping at a variety of premier food and drink producers each day.

Award winning cheeses, chutneys, jams, pickles, whisky, herbs, fine ales, seafood, chocolate and even lavender marmalades are all on the itinerary.

Guests will be dropped off in various locations to meet the owners, take a guided tour or talk, and of course enjoy samplings of all the goods on offer. There is also a wine tasting and whisky tasting organised onboard with one of Argyll’s leading vintners.

Imagine spectacular sea lochs with unspoiled glens, mountains and forests as the backdrop for the delicious locally-sourced organic meals cooked by your onboard chef every day. This area is rich in wildlife and dotted with small fishing communities and castles. The islands of Arran, Bute and Cumbrae have beautiful coastlines of sandy bays, scattered with picturesque villages and historic buildings.

The Majestic Line is looking forward to collaborating with all these fantastic producers to highlight South Argyll as one of our hidden gems in the gastronomic world.
