Meanwhile, the first of our group's two PolarCirkel boats was being positioned at the bottom of the gangway.

On the bridge, a lookout was scanning the shore with binoculars to make sure that no polar bears were in the vicinity. (During the previous cruise, the landing had to be aborted and delayed while a group of polar bears wandered past the beach.)
