Magdalenefjord and GravnesetJust uphill from the beach, we saw a tent that was used by armed guards. (Unlike Nordstjernen's passengers, visitors from most cruise ships aren't accompanied by Svalbard guides, so the governor's office stations two watchmen at Gravneset during the summer to protect both tourists and the environment.)
