This odd-looking device behind the Silver Whisper's bow is the housing of a stabilizer. The ship has two Fincantieri Marine folding fins that can be deployed hydraulically in seconds when the ocean becomes rough. Each fin extends 5.2 meters or 17.6 feet from the hull to minimize rolling of the ship.
