The Silver Whisper has two evaporators to remove salt from seawater. An osmosis unit (shown above) provides backup capacity. Tanks can store 1036 metric tons or 272,500 U.S. gallons of potable water for drinking and washing.

The ship is technically capable of recycling and purifying "grey water" such as dishwater and wash water, but U.S. regulations prevent such re-use.
