Tenders

During our cruise, the Silver Whisper's tender landing in St. Peter Port was next to the Condor Ferries pier. Passengers could wait for the tender or pick up bottled water at a hospitality tent on the quay.

As we stepped off the tender, we noticed a long stairway with several landings beneath the sea. "What's that--Atlantis?" a passenger quipped. A local gentleman explained that the tides in St. Peter Port could vary by as much as 30 to 35 feet, or up to 10 meters or more. He added that visiting yachtsmen sometimes tied up their boats without enough slack, causing their boats to be left hanging at low tide.
