"The casino manager asked me to tell you that the casino is
open, and the tables are paying out."
Ray Solaire, the Silver Whisper Cruise Director, made that deadpan
announement at every Viennese Lounge show until the final night, when he gave the punchline:
"The casino manager asked me to tell you that the casino is open, and the
customers are paying out."
Since neither of us has the nerve or the patience for gambling,
we can't vouch for either claim, but we can tell you that the Silver Whisper's
small casino attracted bettors when we were on board, and the players seemed to
be enjoying themselves.
