Silver Whisper Monemvasia photo

M/V Silver Whisper

At anchor in Monemvasia, Greece

The Silver Whisper is visible beyond a bathing pool along the causeway that links Monemvasia's small modern port with the historic walled town.

Because the Silver Whisper has a relatively shallow draft, it can sail into harbors that aren't deep enough for "megaships." And because it carries a maximum of 382 passengers, it's able to stay in ports that lack the facilities to handle 2,000 or 3,000 cruise visitors at a time.

(Note: If the picture looks a bit fuzzy, it's because both of us needed new glasses at the time of our cruise, and the photo shows the Silver Whisper from our personal point of view.)
