Viviers, France
from Viking Burgundy Photos

photo

Viviers

The Maison des Chevaliers or House of Knights was built by Noël Albert, a wealthy salt trader and merchant who converted to Protestantism, destroyed part of the cathedral and other religious buildings, and ultimately was captured and beheaded for his sins. The Renaissance-style house has been carefully restored and is illuminated after dark. (This photo was taken during the Viking Burgundy's nighttime walking tour of Viviers.)
