That evening, before L'Austral sailed from Zadar, Captain Rémi Genevaz and his senior officers greeted passengers at a "Welcome Cocktail Party" by the Pool.

White trousers appeared to be in fashion among guests of both sexes.

This couple enjoyed a moment of shade from the French Tricolor.

The Champagne was French--no foreign knock-offs allowed.

The canapés were excellent, and were served with panache.

Daniel and Giliola, L'Austral's lively piano and vocal duo, entertained guests from the Deck 7 bar overlooking the Pool until it was time for dinner.

L'Austral cast off and sailed for Trogir, Croatia at 10 p.m.
