As we returned to the Old Harbor, we saw two of Dubrovnik's ubiquitous excursion boats leaving on tours.

Small passenger ferries run frequently to the island of Lokrum, which has a botanical garden, a lake, swimming beaches, and seafood restaurants. Lokrum is only about 10 minutes from Dubrovnik's Old Harbor, and it's popular with both locals and tourists.

Glass-bottomed boats offer views of underwater life in the shallow waters around Dubrovnik; you can book a tour by day or at night, when searchlights illuminate the seabed.
