The southern stretch of Dubrovnik's City Walls is the most level and scenic of the four sections. If you're pressed for time, we suggest entering the walls at the Pile Gate, walking south, and continuing counterclockwise until you reach either of the exits near the Old Harbor.

In the photo above, palm trees show how benign Dubrovnik's climate is during most of the year. To the right of the walls is Lokrum Island, which--as we mentioned earlier--is only 10 minutes by boat from the Old Harbor.
