Istanbul, Turkey

Karakoy Pier (which includes the Istanbul Cruise Terminal), is on the northern side of the city, at the point where the Bosphorus connects with the Golden Horn and the Black Sea. It's just across the Galata Bridge from the tourist attractions of central Istanbul.

Note the grass on top of the warehouses. "Green roofs" may be new to energy-conscious Western architects, but they're old news in Istanbul.
