Day 5: Kuşadasi, Turkey (3)
Before returning to Norwegian Jade, we walked toward Pigeon Island, located just west of the cruise port.
A narrow causeway led to the island. We saw several boats and a sign that advertised excursions. (One of the boats had a water slide on the top deck, allowing passengers to slide from the vessel into the sea.)
When we reached the island, a sign told us that it was closed for renovation, so we turned around and headed back.
We returned to the cruise terminal via a waterside park where
a café had the port and a tugboat as a backdrop.
Other vessels in port included Grand Circle's Arethusa, Wind Star's Star Pride, and Royal Caribbean's Rhapsody of the Seas.
When we returned to Norwegian Jade, a crew member
gave us cold washcloths. (Water and other cold drinks were also available on the
pier.)
We headed up the gangway and into Norwegian Jade's blessedly air-conditioned interior.
