Queen's Lounge

At sea (ms Rotterdam)

Farther forward is the Queen's Lounge, the main entertainment venue on ms Rotterdam. The showroom has two levels--a main floor and a balcony, accessible from Decks 4 and 5--and accommodates several hundred spectators at a time.

On a typical evening, the Queen's Lounge has two performances of the day's featured show. (We attended one show, which had a Broadway hits theme with a series of song-and-dance numbers--accompanied by frequent costume changes--on a rotating stage.)

A highlight of each cruise is the Indonesian or Filipino Crew Show (the nationality alternates from cruise to cruise), which is a mixture of traditional and modern numbers performed by members of ms Rotterdam's service staff. It's a bit like a grown-up version of a summer-camp show, but some of the performers are quite talented, and the show seems to be popular with Holland America Line's passengers.
