Royal
Palace when we reached it. (The palace is located in a park on the western edge of Oslo's downtown.)
The park was quiet as we walked past the royal residence, but on another
visit a
few years ago, when temperatures were blistering, hundreds of Oslo residents
sunbathed on the palace grounds in skimpy bathing suits--or, in a few cases, in
their underwear.
The Royal Palace is open to the public from late June through mid-August, but we had other plans: We were headed toward Frogner Park and
its collection of Gustav Vigeland sculpture.
