Silver Spirit Cruise PhotosFrom: Silver Spirit Cruise Review Alghero (3)
We spent much of our time in Alghero exploring the newer sections of town, which aren't of much interest to the average visitor (unless, like Cheryl, the visitor is a paparazza dei cani.)
After wandering through block after block of uninspired housing from the late 20th Century, we headed toward the resort area north of the Old Town. In this photo, you can see the lungomare or waterfront promenade that connects the centro storico with the Lido San Giovanni, a beach that runs for several kilometers along the bay.
A large marina, the Porto
di Alghero, separates the Old Town from the beach.
(The ship on the other side of the breakwater is Silver Spirit.)
Adjoining the marina are an
Orange Bar and warning
signs for landlubbers with cars.
