Shore
Excursions
Cruise
lines typically offer shore excursions in European ports, and such tours can be
attractive for two reasons:
-
You can book them during the cruise, usually until a day or two before the
ship arrives in a given port.
-
If a ship-sponsored tour is late in returning to the pier, the ship normally
will wait for the bus.
Still, there are times when you may prefer to make your own
arrangements, either to save money or to take a tour that isn't offered by the
cruise line. In such cases, we suggest checking the shore excrusions offered by
our booking partner, Viator, an international tour broker that
works with local suppliers around the world.
The last time we checked, Viator's
European Shore Excursions
pages offered nearly 150 tours in Northern Europe, the Mediterranean, and
Iceland. You can also book competitively-priced cruise-ship transfers in many ports. To see

Please note:
- You can prebook with Viator in any of four currencies: U.S. dollars,
euros, British pounds, or Australian dollars. (To change currencies, click a
flag at the top left corner of any Viator page.)
- If you have questions or need help, please contact Viator's
24-hour Customer Service team through the Viator Web site. (Because we're an
information site, not a travel agency, we aren't involved in the
reservations
process and don't have access to your booking records.)
- Viator is an advertising partner of Europe for Cruisers, and we receive
a small referral fee on bookings made through the links on this site.
