City Sightseeing Tour

The red City Sightseeing Tour buses are popular with many visitors, for several reasons:

  • The route covers most sights in the New Town and Old Town, with a southern loop that takes passengers near the Museum of Scotland/Royal Museum and the northern fringes of the University of Edinburgh.

  • Recorded commentary is delivered through headphones in seven languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Dutch, and Japanese

  • Buses depart Waverley Bridge until 7:15 p.m. in the peak summer months, or about 30 to 60 minutes later than buses on the other tour routes.

For tour details, or to buy tickets online, see the Lothian Buses City Sightseeing page.

You can also prebook in U.S. dollars and see a list of bus stops at the Viator City Sightseeing Hop On, Hop Off Tour page.
