Where: Britannia is hidden behind the Ocean Terminal shopping center in Leith, which is 10 minutes by car or a 40-minute walk from Edinburgh's city center. Enter the mall and look for the Britannia Visitor Centre on the second floor. Once you've bought your ticket, you can cross the permanent gangway to the yacht. (Elevators on the quay provide wheelchair access to all four decks.) For public transportation, visit the Lothian Buses Web site and search on "Ocean Terminal" to see which line is closest to your hotel or other starting point. If you're driving, park for free in the attached ramp, preferably on level 5 of the Blue Car Park. When: "The Britannia Experience" sells tickets from 9:30 to 4:30 daily (March to October) or 10:30 to 3:30 during the winter, with visitors being shooed off the ship 1½ hours after the ticket office closes. I'd suggest arriving early enough to spend two hours on board. For more details, including ticket prices and holiday closings, visit The Royal Yacht Britannia's official Web site (see below) and click "Visitor Information." Related Web linksThe Royal Yacht
