ABOVE: The state rooms in the royal family's
accommodations are open to visitors from late July through late September.
In Belgium, hotels are
categorized on a scale of one to five stars.
These categories aren't quality ratings (as in a Michelin guide); instead,
they indicate the facilities and services offered. In other words, an anonymous
modern chain hotel with private baths, room service, and other amenities will
have more stars than a delightful, attractively furnished B&B with toilets
down the hall and no telephones or TVs.
For subjective evaluations of hotels, consult a good guidebook
like Cadogan Brussels or Time Out Guide: Brussels.
Note: Some (but not all) of the hotels in these listings are represented by
our Belgian booking partners,
Venere
and
HotelsBelgium, which negotiate discount rates with individual hotels and
hotel chains.
