"The UK's best hotel database" isn't as comprehensive as its slogan might suggest, but it does list hotels in nine towns on the Isle of Wight.

Hotels

Burlington Hotel (Shanklin)
The Burlington's 20 rooms are housed in a stone gentleman's residence from the 19th Century. Several large family rooms are available.

The Holliers Hotel (Shanklin)
Longfellow once stayed at Holliers, which was built in the 17th Century as Shanklin's first coaching inn.

Keats Green Hotel (Shanklin)
Panoramic views, a heated swimming pool, and a dog-friendly management set this hotel apart. A bar/lounge and restaurant are on the premises.

Luccombe Hall Country House Hotel (Shanklin)
The former summer palace of the Bishop of Shanklin is now a family-owned hotel with a restaurant, clifftop views, and direct access to the beach.

The Priory Hotel (Shanklin)
This traditional hotel is at the top of the Shanklin Chine. It has 38 rooms (all with ensuite facilities), a games room, and a heated swimming pool.

Self-catering

Sandown Holiday Chalets (Sandown)
These two-bedroom stone bungalows accommodate up to six guests and are a 10-minute walk from the beach.

Holiday park

Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park (Bembridge)
Choose from chalets, caravans, and camping at this holiday center, which offers a range of outdoor and social activities for the whole family.

Farms

Middle Barn Farm (Sandown)
Rooms are in a former milking stable and meals are served in an old hay barn at this historic farm, which caters to walkers, bicyclists, sailors, and other active vacationers.
