Carisbrooke Castle
Charles I was imprisoned in Carisbrooke, the only medieval castle on the Isle of Wight. The castle is outside Newport.

Fort Victoria Country Park
The island's former defenses now house an aquarium, an Isle of Wight heritage exhibition, a planetarium, and a model railway. Guided seashore and woodland walks are available.

Godshill Model Village
Shanklin Old Village and Godshill are reproduced to scale and surrounded by miniature trees and shrubs.

Isle of Wight Shipwreck Centre and Maritime Museum
Head for Arreton to see salvaged artifacts that date from Roman times to World War II.

The Needles Park
Ride a chair lift to the colored sands, fill a souvenir bottle, browse the gift shops, or stoke up on fast food while the kiddies entertain themselves.

Osborne House
Since Queen Victoria's death here in 1901, her bedroom has been kept intact. The Queen's "snug and cozy" country villa is open to tourists.

Ventnor Botanic Garden
"The Garden Isle" of Wight has Britain's mildest climate, and its botanic garden displays exotic plants from around the world.
