underwear can be slow to dry after hand washing, especially in the summer when
you can't spread out your damp t-shirt and shorts on a radiator. Tilley comes to
the rescue with a travel undershirt and briefs of quick-drying polyester fiber.
Tilley claims that the non-absorbent fiber "wicks moisture away"
from the skin, and that's true in low to moderate humidity.
Under semitropical conditions, the polyester t-shirt may feel sticky. Whether
sticky is better or worse than soaked and soggy (i.e., what you get with cotton) is a
matter of individual preference.
I found the undershirt to be comfortable under most conditions
when I was inclined to wear an undershirt, and the briefs were comfortable even
in the summer heat of the Mediterranean.

soft, non-binding.
Ease of care: Wash, rinse,
wring, and hang up to dry overnight. (You can also wash and dry by machine at low temperatures.)
