Australia

Passports Australia
Most Australia Post offices handle passport applications, and there are nine passport offices around the country.

Canada

Passport Canada
If there's no local passport office in your area, you can apply by mail.

Ireland

Passports and Visas to Travel Abroad
See the "Getting an Irish Passport" page for step-by-step instructions.

New Zealand

New Zealand Passports
Download an application in .PDF format, then open and print it with Adobe's free Acrobat Reader.

United Kingdom

UK Passport Service
Britain may be part of the European Community, but British subjects still need a passport to travel abroad. Also, the Visitor's Passport has been abolished, so you'll now require a standard 10-year passport to leave the country.

United States

Passports
To be on the safe side, allow a minimum of six weeks to get your passport unless you're willing to pay an "expedite" fee for two-week service. You can save time by downloading an application in .PDF format for viewing and printing with Adobe's free Acrobat Reader.

TIP: If you're an adult with an expired passport, you can save money by applying for a new passport by mail.

And a word of warning: The State Department's Passport Services agency now has a help line that you can call with questions or problems involving your passport application, but it's a 900 number that costs 35 cents a minute for automated service and $1.05 per minute if you talk to an operator.
