Using a callback service

If you live in the United States and expect to call home regularly, an international callback service may be cheaper than using a calling card. Here's how it works:

1. You dial the callback service's number in the United States and hang up after the first ring.

2. The callback service automatically captures your phone number with caller ID, then rings back and gives you a domestic U.S. dial tone.

3. You dial the area code and local number, just as if you were calling within the U.S.
