Breakfast buffet
Many German hotels are charging for breakfast these days, so the
Post-Hotel Partenkirchen's rates look even better after you've stoked your
boiler at the free buffet. The all-you-can-eat spread includes rolls, breads,
meats, cheeses, cereals, eggs, and other assorted goodies. It's served in a
sunny, attractive room with a view of the hotel courtyard.
Dining
I didn't get a chance to dine at the Post-Hotel Partenkirchen.
That was a pity, because the hotel has a reputation for excellent cuisine, and
its two dining rooms are loaded with Old Bavarian atmosphere.
In late September, specialties on the menu included venison
Gulasch with Spätzle and red cabbage,
minced game in cream with cranberry sauce and broccoli, wild boar
medallion, Zürich Geschneltzeltes with Rösti
and leaf salad, Wienerschnitzel with a German-style salad plate, and salmon in red pepper sauce with young vegetables and buttered rice. The menu also featured a number of vegetarian dishes.
