Accademia

Alexandra
Many of the Alexandra's traditionally decorated rooms overlook the Via Veneto. The hotel is within walking distance of the Termini railroad station. See guest comments.

Alpi
Each of the 52 rooms in this converted 19th Century house is uniquely furnished, and every room has an Internet connection. See guest comments.

Aphrodite
The Hotel Aphrodite was renovated and upgraded to three-star status in 2003. Its 48 single, double, and triple rooms have parquet floors, marble-and-mosaic bathrooms, and brand-new furniture. The hotel is next to Termini Station.

Arcangelo
The "Archangel," located between the city center and the Vatican, has 33 rooms, a rooftop solarium, and walnut paneling in the public rooms.

Bettoja Nord Nuovo Roma
The least expensive of Bettoja's Rome hotels offers the same generous buffet breakfast as its four-star counterparts. It occupies a prime site near the Roman Archaelogical Museum and the Baths of Diocletian.

Bled
A large villa with a private garden houses the 48-room Hotel Bled, which on the Via S. Croce in Gerusalemme near the edge of the city center. See guest comments.

Britannia
The Opera House is next door, and the Termini Station is 800 yards away. Best of all, the hotel offers free parking to guests. See guest comments.

Caprice
The 40-room Hotel Caprice is just off the Via Veneto, halfway between the Porta Pinciana and the Piazza Barberini. Triple rooms, extra beds, and babysitting are available.

Daniela
This modernized century-old hotel is near the Porta Maggiore and the Basilica of St. John Lateran. Telephones include modem ports, and bathrobes are provided.

Degli Aranci
If you prefer an attractive residential neighborhood, the Degli Aranci may be a good choice. It occupies a Liberty villa north of the Villa Borghese on a street lined with oak and orange trees. See guest comments.

Della Torre Argentina
This hotel in the Piazza Navona district has a traditional decor, a terrace, a reading room, and modern amenities such as air conditioning and satellite TV. See guest comments.

Delle Muse
The Hotel delle Muse is on the piazza of the same name; it has a bar, dining room, and (in summer) a garden restaurant. See guest comments.

Delle Province
The former Hotel Millenium opened in the Jubilee Year of 2000. Its 46 rooms and suites include two ground-floor rooms that are equipped for disabled guests. The hotel is near the University of Rome and the Tiburtina railway station, which has direct train service from Leonardo da Vinci (Fiumicino) Airport.

Diana
This centrally located hotel's 180 rooms include two junior suites with Jacuzzi baths, which can be soothing to sore feet after a day's sightseeing. In summer, the Diana offers dining in its roof garden.

Diplomatic
Small dogs are allowed at the Diplomatic. Take Fifi on a walk to the Vatican (just over 300 yards from from the hotel), or led Fido haul you 200 meters to the Piazza di Spagna.

photoDomus Aurea
The bathrooms may not be large at this new 48-room hotel, but all have Jacuzzi tubs. The Termini station is just 100 meters (about the length of a football field) away. See guest comments.

Duca d'Alba
Rates are reasonable at the Duca d'Alba, which is handy to the Forum and the Colosseum. See guest comments.

Edera
A location near the Colosseum and the Forum, a parking lot, and a patio-garden make the Edera appealing. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible rooms on the ground floor. See guest comments.
