Other hygiene products
Hostelers
have been traveling with sheet bags or "sleep sacks" for years, and now there's
an equivalent product for grown-up travelers who don't trust their hotels'
housekeeping.
DreamSack is a machine-washable silk sleeping bag with a built-in pocket for
a pillow. (Our advice: If you think you need DreamSack, move up to a better
class of hotel.)
If
you're sensitive to smoke or worried about air pollution, the
I Can Breathe Mask may be useful (though you'll want to take it off when
visiting banks or eating). It also makes a political statement: After you've
asked your French waiter for a plate of freedom fries, you can glare from behind
your mask at any local who pulls out a pack of Gauloises or Gitanes.

Finally, Magellan's
PlaneWrap
Feet Wrap will protect your tootsies from germs and fungi if you're asked to
take your shoes off during airport security checks. The disposable wrappers can
also be used as emergency slippers when you need to tiptoe among the dust
bunnies in hotel rooms.
