Travel Hygiene Products
ABOVE: The Third World may be closer than you think. (This public lavatory is owned by the Port of Venice.) Germs are everywhere: on toilet seats, on hotel linens, on airport floor tiles, and in air that you breathe. Most of those germs are benign, and in any case, you're probably more likely to catch an infection at home, work, or school than in a Rome restroom or a London hotel bed. Still, hygiene products can bring peace of mind when you're faced with a disgusting lavatory or required to take off your shoes during an airport security check. They can also be convenient if, for example, you're a woman who wants to keep her feet dry while hovering over a hole-in-the-floor toilet. Many travel shops, drugstores, and department stores offer hygiene products for travelers, but my own favorite source of travel supplies is Magellan's, which began as a catalog business and now has a very popular and successful Web site. In this article, we'll take a look at some of the products that Magellan's sells to travelers who care about sanitation as well as sightseeing. (Note: We do not receive any comissions or referral fees on items purchased through the links in this article.) Next page: Toilet sanitation
