Special events
Skansen
has celebrations and performances throughout the year. On the main page of
www.skansen.se, you'll find a calendar (in
Swedish) of concerts, crafts exhibitions, workshops, and other events for the
next several months.
Skansen's English-language events page describes some of the
bigger events that take place each year, such as the televised New Year's Eve
party and fireworks, Walpurgis Night festitivies in April, the Midsummer
celebration in late June (see photos), concerts and folkdancing during the
summer months, the crowning of Lucia in early December, and the Julmarknad
or Christmas Market on three weekends during Advent.
