Gallery Hotel - Rooms and Suites
From The Gallery Hotel London

photo

ABOVE: The Leighton Suite is one of The Gallery's most luxurious rooms. INSET BELOW: A typical bathroom.

Guest rooms

The Gallery has 34 double, twin, and triple rooms.

I stayed in Room 302, a "double king" overlooking Queensberry Place. The room was comfortable, with good light through large windows that could be opened for ventilation. The room was heated by radiators, and a portable air conditioner (a wheeled device with a hose that connected to a circular port in one window) was on hand for use in the summer months.

The king-sized bed faced a desk with a panel that opened to reveal coffee- and tea-making equipment and teacups with saucers. An upholstered chair would have been handy for reading, but the desk chair was comfortable enough.

photoMy bathroom (see inset photo) was attractively decorated with mahogany paneling, marble tile, and antique brass fittings in the sink and bathtub/shower. In keeping with The Gallery's 19th Century theme, the toilet had a varnished wooden seat.

Suites

If you're honeymooning, or if you'd simply like to splurge, you might want to consider the Leighton Suite (shown at top of page) or the Rossetti Suite (see photo). Both "master suites" have roof terraces, Jacuzzi tubs, and CD/DVD players with classical CDs available from the reception desk.
