Anger

The mock-Gothic Hauptpost or main post office was built from 1892 to 1895. Much of its interior space is no longer needed, and the building or a portion of it may be converted into a retail complex in the years ahead.

Opposite the post office is the Urselinenkloster, a convent that was founded in 1235 and acquired by the Urseline teaching order in 1667. Today, the Urseline nunnery is is the only functioning Catholic monastic building in Erfurt.
