Florence Italy photos pictures - Piazza and Loggia del Mercato Nuovo

Florence: The Loggia del Mercato Nuovo was built between 1547 and 1549 to accommodate members of Florentine high society who used the Piazza del Mercato Nuovo as a place to socialize during the lunch hour. Over the centuries, vendors have peddled silk, gold, and objects made of straw; today, the market specializes in leather and tourist goods.
