The Hotel Writes
"The Hotel Montalembert has long been an historic landmark on the Left Bank of
Paris. From its inception, the Montalembert has been a favorite retreat for
writers and artists; today the Hotel continues to attract some of the most
famous and prestigious names from around the world. "What we have created,"
explains Mrs. Leo-Andrieu," is a hotel which would integrate a contemporary
style and look--luxurious, chic and simple--into the original elegant framework
of the beautiful Montalembert."
Review
Whoever the PR agency is for the Montalembert they have done a tremendous job,
for the hotel is always appearing in CN Traveler and glossy magazines in the US
and UK. When it opened some years ago, it was one of the first of the boutique
designer hotels, so they had a lot to write about, and the style is very much
about modern elegance and a modish summer in Paris, with its Notting Hill-esque
sidewalk tables and its fusion bar inside.
Location-wise, it can't be
faulted, on a quiet side road off the rue de Bac. Following a recent renovation,
the Montalambert is once more a worthy and trendy rival for its imitators.
(Warning: the hotel attracts a fashion crowd year-round and is especially busy
during the shows, so it's always a good idea to book well ahead of your visit.)
