BikeToursDirect expands tour roster in 2008

Choose from 200+ guided and self-guided itineraries in 30 European countries

Chattanooga, TN, December 2007 -- BikeToursDirect has announced its 2008 expanded roster of more than 200 guided and self-guided cycling programs in 30 European countries.

The Danube Bike Path, this past year's most popular tour, leads the way with three levels of lodging on seven-night programs with two- and three-star hotels at €555* (US $835) per person, double, three- and four-star at €635 ($950) and a deluxe package in four- and five-star hotels at €825 ($1,250).

Loire packages now number 10, including three week-long programs that when linked together take cyclists from the headwaters of the Loire through to the Atlantic.

Poland is a new destination, with five tours including "Krakow and the Czestochowa Uplands" and "Krakow, Polish Highlands and the Tatra Mountains."

The company has also added new tours to its roster of nearly 30 bike and boat programs including Amsterdam to Bruges, the Mosel and Rhine Rivers, the Loire Valley, and Dubrovnik and the Dalmatian Coast.

BikeToursDirect represents overseas bike tour operators whose low overhead and frequent departures allow them to offer prices as much as 70 percent below those of United States-based bike tour companies. Self-guided tours start at less than €500 ($750) per person, double, and include hotels, breakfasts, detailed route information, luggage transfers, service hotline and rental bikes. Guided tours start at less than €700 ($1,050) per week and add support vans, dinners and guides.

Clients book online and the company handles all aspects of the process--reservations, payments and contact with the local tour companies.

The company's web site, www.biketoursdiect.com, offers several features to help travelers plan their trips -- "TourFinder" lets visitors specify destinations, interests, dates and level of difficulty and presents detailed information on matching tours; the new "Quick Links" help visitors find specific tour categories like "Especially Leisurely," "Family Friendly" and "Special Values;" and a new forum allows clients and visitors to share their tour experiences. Advice and support are also available by telephone at (877) 462-2423 and by email at info@biketoursdirect.com.
