GrapeHops announces a 7-day microbrewery tour in Lombardy and Piedmont, Italy

GrapeHops, a tour company specializing in food, wine and beer tours of Europe, is now organizing seven-day tours centered within northern Italy's burgeoning and creative microbrew scene. Focusing on brewery tours and meals of local specialties paired with the region's craft beers, tours will start in Milan, move through the Piedmont countryside, and end in Torino.

Tours will be led by one or both of the owners of GrapeHops, Shannon Essa and Kim Riemann, and Piedmont food expert and author Paolo Ferrero.

Breweries visited include Le Baladin, Grado Plato, and Birrificio Lambrate; other tour highlights include a cheese and beer pairing at an artisan goat cheese producer and pub crawls in Milan and Torino.

Limited to 8-10 people, the first tours will be offered in spring 2010.

GrapeHops also offers a food and wine tour of Venice, Italy, led by Chow! Venice author Shannon Essa as well as a wine-based tour of Galicia in northwest Spain.
