Venice-Simplon-Orient-Express train

Orient-Express package includes a "train cruise" and two nights at Venice's Hotel Cipriani

Departures from London or Paris start at US $2,990 per person

Venice-Simplon-Orient-Express in stationOrient-Express Hotels is offering a special package rate of US $2,990 per person for an overnight journey in a double cabin on the legendary Venice-Simplon-Orient-Express train from London or Paris and a two-night stay at Venice's exclusive Hotel Cipriani. The entire package costs less than the normal VSOE train fare from London to Venice (US $3,120).

The price includes transfers by private water taxi between Venice's Santa Lucia Railroad Station and the Hotel Cipriani. This "Venetian Promotion" package is available from April through mid-October, 2009.

Additionally, Orient-Express is offering very good rates at hotels in London and Paris that can be combined with the packages. For example, two people can stay for 2 nights in London or Paris for US $500 at either The Ritz in London or The St Regis in Paris. (Transfers are not included in either London or Paris, but can be arranged.)

About the trip:

Hotel CiprianiDepartures from London include travel via British Pullman train to Folkestone for passengers embarking in London (with lunch, Champagne, and fine wines) and a trip by shuttle train through the English Channel Tunnel to Calais.

In Calais, guests board the Venice-Simplon-Orient-Express. The VSOE stops in Paris around 10 p.m. to pick up passengers who are boarding in the French capital, traverses the Swiss and Italian Alps the next day, and reaches Venice at approximately 6 p.m.

Alternatively, guests can start their trips with two nights at the Hotel Cipriani followed by an overnight VSOE train journey to Paris or London.
