Florence 3-Star Hotels
From: Florence
 |
LEFT: The Hotel
Machiavelli Palace is a former convent near the railroad station. |
Alinari
The Hotel Alinari is across the square from the railroad station and the church
of Santa Maria Novella. A terrace is open for breakfast and evening drinks in
the summer.
Ambasciatori
The Ambasciatori is near the railroad station and even closer to the SITA bus
depot, where you can catch buses to the airport, to Siena, and to towns
throughout the region.
Bellettini
Read our archived review, Two Hotels in Florence,
for details on this friendly hotel near the Duomo. (Ask for a room in the hotel,
not in the annex.)
Boccaccio
The Hotel Boccaccio is a block from the plaza in front of the railroad station,
in the direction of the River Arno. The soundproofed rooms have parquet
flooring, and non-smoking rooms are available.
Cavour
The Hotel Cavour is just south of the Duomo and a short walk from the
Piazza della Signoria. Breakfast and snacks are served on the roof terrace, and
you can check your e-mail with the Internet terminal in the lobby.
Le Due Fontane
Two of this hotel's 57 rooms are equipped for disabled guests, and eight have
Jacuzzis (great for soothing sore feet after a long day's sightseeing). The
hotel is on the Piazza della SS. Annunziata, close to the Galleria
dell'Accademia.
Machiavelli Palace
After serving as both a convent and a noble family's palace, this 18th Century
building became a 90-room hotel. Some rooms have frescoes, carved wooden
ceilings, or balconies. The hotel is 200 meters from the train station, near the
central market. See

information on this hotel next to the Piazza della Repubblica. (Caution: Rooms
on the street side can be very noisy at night.)
