Albani
When you need to catch an early train or plane, this guest-recommended hotel's
location within a few meters of Santa Maria Novella Station will help you make a
quick getaway.
Anglo American
English and American guests have been staying at this hotel near the opera house since 1792.
The hotel was
restored several years ago to draw an upmarket clientele. Allow 15-20 minutes to reach the historic center on foot.
Atlantic Palace
The railroad station and airport bus are only 100 meters from this hotel, which
is also convenient to the Duomo and other major sights. The Atlantic Palace's 58
rooms are decorated in Florentine style.
Baglioni
The Grand Hotel Baglioni is in a 19th Century building on the Piazza Unità
Italiana, catercorner to the railroad station. The rooftop restaurant and
patio garden have outstanding views.
Bernini Palace
With a location near the Piazza della Signoria and the Uffizi Gallery in the
heart of Medici Florence, the Bernini Palace is perfectly situated for shopping
and sightseeing.
Bettoja Relais Certosa
This villa-style hotel is the former guesthouse of the
Certosa del Galluzzo
monastery. It's near the A1 Autostrada del Sole's Florence-Certosa exit
and 15 minutes from the city center by hotel shuttle.
Boscolo Hotel Astoria
The Astoria, more formally known as the Astoria Palazzo Gaddi Boscolo, occupies a Florentine Baroque palace from
the 16th Century. It's just off the across a square from the church of Santa
Maria Novella, away from heavy traffic but within a short walk of the main
railroad station and the airport bus terminal.
Brunelleschi
A Byzantine tower and medieval church have been converted into a 96-room hotel
near the Duomo. A museum shows displays artifacts discovered in the

The "Maltese Cross" is a former convent with non-nunnish amenities that include
a piano bar and swimming pool. The hotel is within a triangle formed by Santa
Maria Novella, the Duomo, and the Arno.
Executive
Don't let the name scare you off--the Executive isn't a modern convention hotel.
The renovated 19th Century building has only 38 rooms and is next to the River

center.

Underground parking, bicycle rentals with child seats, and babysitting are
available at the family-friendly Londra, a modern hotel between the railroad
station and the Cascine Park.
Nord Florence
This ultramodern hotel is 5 minutes from the A1 autostrada, which makes
it convenient if you're driving and want to avoid the city center. It's also
near the Florence airport.

Modernity is the theme at this hotel on the city's outskirts. It offers parking,

Rivoli
Franciscan monks lived here in the 15th Century, long before the year-round
hydromassage pool was installed in the courtyard. The hotel is near the station
and the Santa Novella Church.
Starhotels Michelangelo
This modern business hotel is near the Cascine Park, 800 meters from the
railroad station. It has a garage and is a short bus ride from the historic
center of town.
Strozzi Palace
For location, this converted 19th Century palace is outstanding: It's within
walking distance of the railroad station if you have wheeled luggage, yet it's
just a block from the Piazza della Repubblica (the heart of downtown Florence)
on a fairly quiet square. Jacuzzi tubs offer a great way to relax after a long
day of sightseeing.
