Blog
Florence Journal
Like most blogs, Anthony Finta's Florence Journal is organized to
show the latest articles first. This limits the blog's utility for travel
planning, but it's handy if you're a Firenzephile who visits the site often.
History
Florence by Net: History
of Florence
This page at Florence by Net offers a
timeline of Florentine history from the 5th Century B.C., when the Etruscans
founded Fiesole (now a suburb of Florence).
Internet Train had nearly a dozen
storefront PC parlors in
Florence the last time we checked. There are plenty of other Internet points in
town; during the academic year, many are filled with Americans from "study
abroad" programs. (Note: In Italy, Internet shops are required to record
your passport or other photo ID information before you can go online.)
Sports
Florence's Historic
Football Match
Two teams of 27 players each fight over a ball (often with fisticuffs) before
the victors are rewarded with steaks and wine.
