Schneeballe, or snowballs, are a Rothenburg dessert
specialty, and you'll see them in the windows of many confectioners' shops.
The pastries consist of sweet dough strips that are rolled into
balls, deep-fried, and flavored with a coating such as chocolate, cinammon, or
the traditional powdered sugar. You can see photos of Schneeballe being
