Hauptbahnhof (Main Railway Station)

A train of the German Federal Railways enters Regensburg's main railroad station. (This photo was taken from the glassed-in elevated corridor that leads from the building to the platforms.)

The Hauptbahnhof is below the green belt on the southern edge of the Altstadt, where Maximilianstrasse ends at Bahnhofstrasse. It's within easy walking distance of most centrally located hotels if you have a rolling suitcase or a backpack.

Need a car in Europe?

If you live outside the EU, a tax-free tourist car lease can be cheaper than renting for visits of 21+ days. Minimum driver age is 18, there' s no upper age limit, and rates include insurance.
