Hauptbahnhof (Main Railway Station)

A train of the German Federal Railways enters Regensburg's main railroad station. (This photo was taken from the glassed-in elevated corridor that leads from the building to the platforms.)

The Hauptbahnhof is below the green belt on the southern edge of the Altstadt, where Maximilianstrasse ends at Bahnhofstrasse. It's within easy walking distance of most centrally located hotels if you have a rolling suitcase or a backpack.
