Paris: The great staircase in Charles Garnier's Opéra, a.k.a. the Palais Garnier. The building, which was completed in 1875, has been used primarily for ballet and classical concerts since the Opéra National de Paris moved its grand opera productions to the new Opera Bastille in 1989.
