Paris on the Prairie: This historic photograph from the Napoleonic Era shows the Arc de Triomphe de l'Etoile in the decades after the French Revolution, when peasants tore up the cobblestones of the Avenue des Champs-Élysées and planted wheat. (Their rallying cry was said to be, "Let us eat bread.")
