Paris four-star hotels (P-Z)

Pont Royal
The Musée d'Orsay is nearby, and the hotel also makes much of its proximity to the literary cafés on the Place Saint-Germain. Mahogany paneling and moldings are reminscent of an earlier era.

Relais Saint Jacques
Book one of the 23 rooms at this hotel in the Latin Quarter, and you'll be within easy walking distance of Left Bank neighborhoods and the Ile de la Cité.

Rochester Champs Élysées
The 90-room Hotel Rochester is between the Champs-Élysées and the Rue Faubourg-Saint Honoré in the 8th arrondissement, within easy reach of shopping and the major tourist sights.

Splendid-Etoile
A number of this older hotel's 57 rooms and suites face the Arc de Triomphe, and most have French windows that open onto small balconies. The hotel was renovated in 2001.

Villa Beaumarchais
The 50 rooms and suites at this stylish boutique hotel overlook an interior garden. The Place des Vosges and the historic Marais district are nearby, and both the Ile de la Cité and the Ile Saint-Louis are within easy walking distance.

Villa Montparnasse
When you head for the Métro station of Denfert-Rochereau, be sure to tour the catacombs where the bones of seven million Parisians lie neatly stacked in passages of an ancient quarry. Later, back at the new Villa Montparnasse, you can enjoy a different kind of peace and quiet in a room that's attractively furnished in Colonial style.

Villa Panthéon
With a location in the literary quarter of Saint-Germain des Pres, public rooms that are decorated in hardwood and leather, and 59 attractive guest rooms, the Villa Panthéon is a tempting choice for lovers of the Left Bank.

Westminster
The Hotel Westminster Opéra was once a convent, but its cells have been replaced by well-appointed rooms with marble baths, double-glazed windows, and a comfortably traditional decor.
